EchoMarkers is an RTX drawing tool for placing markers at any position (price and time) in a chart with optional echoes of the marker at the same price and time on subsequent or prior trading sessions. Vertical (price) echoes are available. These echo the markers at a vertical offset in ticks from the origin marker. Vertical and Horizontal lines are optional, each line having its own color, width, and style. The origin marker, horizontal echoes, and vertical echoes can have a unique fill color. Two labelling options are provided to label markers automatically with price, time, or with user-specified custom text. Markers can be dragged and dropped by clicking and dragging the origin marker or any of its horizontal echoes. If an echo marker is dragged and dropped, it becomes the origin marker. EchoMarkers can be used to mark a key price and time on a prior trading day so the trader can then see the marker echoed at the same price and time during subsequent trading sessions. The optional vertical echos provide a visual aid to note how distant the current trading price is from the orgin marker's price level. EchoMarkers, in its simplest form, is a useful tool for dropping a marker (no echoes) with a custom label to denote what happened at that point during the trading session.
To add an EchoMarker, right-click in the chart and choose Draw > Echo Markers. The cursor will change and a prompt will appear in the chart requesting a click to select the price/time for placement of the origin marker. Further, you can right-click on an EchoMarker and choose Add EchoMarkers Button. A button will appear in the chart titled EchoMarkers. Customize the button color and title if you wish. When clicked, the button will activate the EchoMarkers drawing tool using the same indicator preferences as the EchoMarker used to create the button. For example, you may want to use red markers to denote selling, green notes for buying and markers of some other color for neutral markers. Adding three color coded buttons for each kind of EchoMarker facilitates placement of markers in the desired color.
Presentation
Here is an example showing one instance of EchoMarkers with both horizontal and vertical echoes. The origin is labelled with the price and date and the horizontal echoes are labelled with the date. Both vertical and horizontal lines are turned on (in gold). The vertical echoes are at 30 tick offsets. The origin is highlighted with a pink fill color.
