Delta %

Hello. Is there any way of finding statistics on price after +/- 10% in delta?

The BSTAT Delta % is being used on a 8 tick Volume Profile Renko Chart.

Could this statistic possibly give an expected move?

Clarification

I'm not clear exactly what you're asking for.  You want to find bars with a Delta % (as calculted by Bar Statistics) of > 10% or < -10%?  And perform statistics on price?  What type of statistics?  On your 8t Renko chart, it's almost guaranteed that if delta % was > 10 then it was an up bar/brick, and if it was <-10% it was a down brick.  Not sure how meaningful those stats would be.

I'd like to know what

I'd like to know what happened after the >10%. How many bars went up or down after that. How much did they go up or down.
I'm trying to be more specific, although I wouldn't even know where to start or how to find that information.

Delta Percent Impact

Try this > https://www.linnsoft.com/charts/deltapercentimpact-es

The profile indicator on the right is counting the number of Up Bars (or Down Bars) followed a +10% Delta Percent (or -10% Delta Percent in red).  The info box of the Profile Indicators gives the count, mode, median, and max.

Delta % Alert

Sure, just add a Signal Marker that looks for delta percent to be above the value you wish, and attach a signal action to that Signal Marker that performs the action you wish.

Import this chart: https://www.linnsoft.com/charts/deltapercentsignal-es

And you can adjust the button at top to the Delta % level you want, and add a Signal Action to the Signal Marker (blue dots) in the chart.

Can that information be backtested to see what happened in the past after a 10% increase or decrease in delta?

Thanks Chad. You're speed is faster than a robot :D

Backtesting Delta Increase

Sorry for late replay (ironic considering your comments). I just now noticed your question.

You can certainly backtest any delta conditions (at least as far back as you have tick data for the symbol).  But let me know specifically what you mean by "10 % increase in delta".  Do you mean 10 % increase from previous bar?  Or are you referring to the delta % we were computing above (which was percent of the volume of the bar)?

Hey Chad, very funny.

Hey Chad, very funny.

I believe I was asking about the same delta % per bar. Basically looking to see if delta % could be a signal to fire off a trade, and if a strategy could be built around that. Then of course what is the potential gain, consecutive losses, drawdowns.

I believe this would be similar to a rotational study, just with delta%.
The goal would be to find the more common occurance and trade it with proper risk management.

Thanks.
